The Visa's ware composed of original Citroën bodywork/platform and Japanese engines. The only Chinese parts I could find were the windows and the tyres. The original Citroën parts were shipped from France to China.
Jonathan (Joest), about the Accent: at that time there were several Chinese makes showing an Accent copy like this one. It is possible that they were just (literaly) rebadged Hyundais.

Another interesting product was made by the Liuzhou Machinery Works. This factory made engines for Wuling and was also part of the Wuling Group.
In the years 1989, 1991 and 1993 I made pictures of their station wagon: the Disai LJ720, later named Disai LJ5010XKH. This vehicle was based on the Daihatsu Charade 1, but had a polyester body made with help of original Charade dies. It was popular as taxi in the Guangxi region. A company in Shenzhen, named Zhonghua (no, not Brilliance!) used the same bodyparts to make the same vehicles. The engine was a 276Q 2-cylinder, made by this Machinery Works. This engine was also in use in the Wuling minivans.
