Yuejin UK plans to import light trucks from China later this year, according to Transport News Brief. The firm will start with a range of 3.5 tonners, imported with drop-side bodies. Tipper and box-bodied models will follow later in the year.
The trucks, based on a Nissan Cabstar model, are powered by a Toyota-based LPG engine.
"We see very good opportunities, particularly with local authorities and others working in areas where low emissions are a priority," said Steve Kusytsch, business development manager. "We're also looking for dealers, initially in the UK, to share in what we're sure will be a great success."
Yuejin plans to extend its sales onto the European mainland in the next two or three years.

A local truck importer (I don't know the official name) has imported a large batch of Nanjing Yuejin trucks to Argentina from 1995 to 2000. I'm sure that they've imported more than 1500 trucks.

Most countries import Chinese trucks in some form or the other. Is there anything remarkable about this lot that you mention? Is it because this happened two decades ago, when other nations were generally unfamiliar with Chinese vehicles?

Since you write about Argentina, I wonder why you haven't yet mentioned the Zanella Zity or Z-Truck, although I presume these aren't likely on the market.

Dmitra, I have started a thread about the Zanella Zity, the "Auto Social" project, and the Zanella Z-Truck is a Chang'an Chana pick-up.
About the chinese vehicles in Argentina, I'll tell you this.
In the early 90's, the former president of Argentina, Carlos Saúl Menem, has "liberalizated" the economy and the imports of communist countries like China, Russia, Romania, Vietnam, Syria (Fact: Menem was the son of inmigrants of Syria), etc. was started to raise. But in the early 2000's, we had an economical crisis and a lot of automotive brands "go away" from Argentina. Now, we have a lot of chinese car brands (for example JMC and Foton), and the president Mauricio Macri plans to assembly on CKD form 1.000.000 of Dongfeng-PSA cars.

Thanks for the info. The Z-Truck, as pictured, is a Changhe Furuida pickup, not a Changan. I have also been aware of SOCMA (see Chery Socma), the erstwhile Sevel Argentina, and their connection to the current president.

But I am going way off-topic.

Dmitra thanks. But Chang'an was making trucks and mini pick-up's from 1998 to 2002, in Alta Gracia, Córdoba. If I remember good, it was a Joint Venture beetwen Nakai Japan S.A and Norinco.
