Zanella Zity: The Yogomo trike made in Argentina of US$ 5.849
Yes people, the price is real. 5.849 dollars for a little egg with 3 wheels. I won't consider it a good idea, because a good car (E.G a Rover 416 SLi or a Nissan Sentra GXE) is priced a little more, and it's a real car. But I stop the critics and will start the history.
The Zanella Zity is a 3-wheeled city car (hence the name) prototype produced first, by Zanella Argentina S.A, with a partnership of Chongqing Yogomo Ltd. They planed to make the car in Buenos Aires (with a 25% of imported parts) and put it on sale in 2012 at a price of that moment, AR$ 25.000 or US$ 1.624,80. But they don't have the approval of the Cristina Fernández de Kirchner government, and they have stopped the project, suspended the partnership and start to focus on 3-wheeled trucks.
But in 2016, the project has reanudated, by the name "Auto Social" or "Social Car", hoped to make it 100% argentinian in the Bs.As plant, and start the first sales on 2018. The price of this car: AR$ 90.000 or US$ 5.849.
