While they've obviously copied the Audi Q3, I think they've done something of a better style job than Audi.
The next one in the SR7 "star-themed" Limited Edition lineup is this SR7 Cancer :yikes:. They seem to be using the English/Latin name here. Really, did they not find any other constellation? There are, like, 88 of them!

Car nameplates are sometimes funny, other times have to be changed because meanings in certain languages. Just remembering Toyota MR2 was simply called MR in french speaking countries (MR2 word sound means "is shity" in french). This year we have the launch of Hyundai Kona which will be called Kauai in Portugal. Kona is too similar to "cona", a portuguese slang word for vagina! I don't know if "cona" means the same in brazilian portuguese. Anyway during the 1970's and 80's we had here (in Portugal) the Opel Ascona which name wasn't changed and granted los of jokes around here.

Back to cancerous SR7 I think it's a bad idea. From the 1960's to the 80's Renault named most of its cars with numbers. As far I remember there were Renault 3,4,5,6,7 (this one was a spannish Renault 5 with a trunk), 8,9,10,11,12,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,25 and 30 (I think I didn't forget any). So many numbers but no Renault 13!

Re: Zotye SR7 Cancer

The naming would not have been a problem if they had simply stuck to the Chinese words for the IAU constellation, 巨蟹座/巨蟹宮 (juxiezuo/juxiegong) since the Chinese word for the malignant disease(s) is 癌症 (aizheng) and there is no ambiguity. But in the PR pictures, they actually display the Latin name, and to associate that with an aspirational product like a limited-edition car makes the entire campaign so unpleasant.
