Joylong HKL6370BEV (Tun-based mini EV)

A new electric minicar by Jiangsu Joylong has been approved by NDRC. It is based on the Zhonghua Tun but with a new, JAC-like front end. The name of the car is not legible, but reads something like "C04".

Some LSEV makers do sell electric versions of the Tun but these usually retain the original body.

Dimensions: Long: 3750 wide: 1663 high: 1540 mm
Wheelbase: 2400 mm
Motor: 30 kW.

Joylong electric cars (HKL6320BEV, HKL6440BEV)

Two electric vehicles under Joylong appear in the latest MIIT Notice. The original pictures are too small to make out any sort of detail or name.

The first one is a 3.2 m van-like microcar, the likes of which can sometimes be found among LSEVs. It is powered by a 30 or 40 kW motor.

The second one is an electric version of Keyton EX80 MPV, powered by a 75 kW motor.

Joylong's previous attempt at marketing a small EV (ES4) did not amount to anything.

Joylong IFly LWB (HKL6520)

A few months ago, Joylong introduced a long-wheelbase version of the IFly. The length has been increased from 4900 mm, by 250 mm, to 5150 mm, and the wheelbase is up by the same amount, from 2950 mm to 3200 mm. This is however a wheelchair-friendly "welfare" version with a retractable ramp extending from the rear floor. It has not been launched on the market but some units have been sent to the car rental/transportation services group, Shouqi.

Joylong is planning on launching electric conversions of both the SWB & LWB vans, to be known as EF5 & EF9. The LWB may be available in 2+2+3 (3 row, 7 seat) or 2+2+2+3 (4 row, 9 seat) configurations.

Corporate organization

I don't see this being mentioned, so here is an organization chart showing Joylong's relationship to its larger parent group (Jiangxi Jiangte) and other vehicle manufacturing entities.

Only relevant connections shown; other group companies not included. For a list of major sister companies, see this page.

Of note, we have previously encountered Jiangxi Jiangte Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. on this forum here.

With regards to the IFLY shown above,
it's clear that the engineers of this model must have long wrestled with safety assurances for the disabled passengers, under (all) conditions.
I'd like to see more about such safety issues here on this forum.
