Dmitra, Martin or LSEV:
Has the following article of bitauto.com, or similar news, been previously posted, enlightening us on the finalization of the takeover of Soueast by Chery? A quick search didn't lead me to believe so.
I for one have been asleep at the wheel ever since Mitsubishi withdrew from its venture with Soueast.
This move of Chery brings a sea change to the geography of production.

Southeast (Fujian) Automobile Industry Co., Ltd. is currently owned by
1) Fuzhou Qingkou Holding Co., Ltd. -- 70%
2) Fujian Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd. -- 14.1903%
3) Fuzhou Zuohai Holding Group Co., Ltd. -- 7.8330%
4) Minhou County Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. -- 6.3203%
5) HuaWei Co., Ltd. (British Virgin Islands) [an investment vehicle of China Motor Corporation, Taiwan] -- 1.6564%

After the withdrawal of Mitsubishi Motors, Fuzhou Transportation Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. (controlled by Fuzhou city) began acquiring shares of Southeast Auto.
Fuzhou Transportation Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. was afterwards renamed as Fuzhou Zuohai Holding Group Co., Ltd. and eventually ended up with 77.833 % of Southeast Auto's shares.
Fuzhou Zuohai Holding Group Co., Ltd. established a subsidiary, Fuzhou Zuohai Automobile Co., Ltd. in May 2022, which, in turn, set up its own subsidiary, Fuzhou Qingkou Holding Co., Ltd., in August 2023. Thereafter, Fuzhou Zuohai Holding Group Co., Ltd. transferred 70% of the shares of Southeast Auto (out of its 77.833%) to Fuzhou Qingkou Holding Co., Ltd.

Around January-March 2024, in follow-up of prior negotiations, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. acquired 100% of the shares of Fuzhou Qingkou Holding Co. (not Southeast Auto) from Fuzhou Zuohai Automobile Co., Ltd.

It looks like Yin Tongyao & Co. saw the Soueast ship continuing to fade into oblivion, like so many other Chinese legacy automakers, and saw an opportunity to liven up its global aspirations using Chery's well honed expertise in the export market .
This paid ad in the Wall Street Journal gives us an updated look into the acquisition status of this once stand alone, regional player, in China.

I continue to be amazed at seeing Chery retain, and to go global, with such a cumbersome, and hard to understand, (and to spell), brand name.

Chinese auto brand debuts 4 new models in Egypt
SOUEAST, a Chinese auto brand, unveiled four new models in Egypt on Thursday, marking a significant expansion in the African market.

Held in the northern Egyptian city of Alamein, the launch featured four new models covering almost all segments of the SUV market, namely the flagship smart luxury SUV S09, urban intelligent C-segment SUV S07, urban fashionable C-segment SUV S06, and compact urban SUV S05.
Note the inclusion of the S05 in the range, which implies that what was once a Soueast model (DX5) and then became a Jetour (X50), has gone back to being a Soueast model (S05), at least in this market.
